Hallo evrybody.
I'm new user :)

I have epson EMP-5000 with burned lamp. The lamp was metal halide 150W 50V (only 50V) type ELPLP03.
It does will be working with Topspot HIT 150W G-12 6000h 4200K nw?
What kind of lamp I must use to this modification?

Maybe I should do short circuit on the opto-couplers (transoptors) like in modification for example NEC MT820?
Please help me someone.

THANKS
Bartek

Hey,
Your burned lamp was as you said mh 150w so that the ballast which is inside your projector delivers AC signal which is fully compatible with blv topspot (sold by grazyprice on ebay.fr).

You won't need any short circuit on the optos because you will use the power supply of the ballast include in the projector (no need to cheat on the vp because there will be a lamp connected to that ballast).

All you need is to clean the bulb from the old lamp, then to break the anti-uv protection around the blv, to adapt it on the bulb and finally connect it to the kind of plug present in the lamp support.

Go and see the video made by Avalon36 on the section "Projets VP D.I.Y/Modding" in the menu (root of the website Upper left corner of your screen) for more informations.

COOL:)
Thanks for the answer.

I'm glad because I just bought "Topspot HIT 150W G-12" from ebay.
So every projectors who includes original metal halide will be compatibility with commercial metal halide independently from work voltage original lamp? Even DLP?

I think that your ballast will easily adapt with the voltage.
At least the only risk in your case is that the blv would be undervolted and that you'd lose some brightness.

DLP are usually DC ballast provided so that it is not compatible with blv.

UHE UHP lamps ---> blv
NSH lamps --> short circuit the lamp detection + AC optional ballast + blv

HELP HELP HELP!!!!!

I put the new lamp (Topspot HIT 150W 4200K nw) into the projector and it run very well, but after one minute it automatically turned off and light diode "error lamp".
It is maybe because the pressure growth into lamp and 50V is not enought to keep arc.
Someone knows what there can be the cause?

Use, like in the movie I told you before, dominos without the plastic protection and a washer at the bottom of your bulb.

Usually the lamp must be placed at about 3mm from the bottom of the bulb.

Then during the first projection the lamp must be used 4 hours then 2 hours per use.

Try to get the best rapport brightness/contrast by moving the lamp into the bulb mm per mm.

Thanks!
Now after adjust is very good, but always ferstly turn on crosses to the turn off after about 30 seconds, then second turn on on the warm lamp give normal work. Why? I don't know:) Maybe lamp is defective.

Why "during the first projection the lamp must be used 4 hours then 2 hours per use"? My first projection lasted about 30 seconds because lamp crossed turned off. Is that dengeurs for lamp?

I would say maybe the ballast don't give enough power to burn the metal halide solution the first time then try again with an higher power supply and succeed.

If you feel like the ballast suffer from this make the good choice in order not to damage it.

You must respect that cycles in rder to keep a good brightness and life time of the lamp.
If you do not you could even see the bulb explosing due to metal halide which would have glue on the bulb because of the non respect of those cycles.

Could you post some pics of the result in projection?

Pictures of the projection I will take tomorrow because few minutes ago i turned off the projector.

Vision with this lamp is like at people from this forum lightly greenish.
Probably caused is that by new lamp which is don't formatted (wrote on that forum).

Ok.
Images of projection: EPSON EMP-5000 with Topspot HIT 150W 4200K.

While doing these pictures the projector already worked about 4 hours.
The painting is to much green. What can I do this to improve what?
What is the main reason for it?

That's normal and explainable that breaking the bulb protection of the lamp reduce the pressure that the bulb need to work properly.

The green will dicrease with the utilisation of the lamp (about 100h).
During this period you can try different focus on the lamp by moving up and down in the reflector.
(still respect the cycles and don't burn yourself ! )

As soon as you get the best focus after the 100 hours fix the lamp in a definitive way in the reflector by using a high temperature mastic.

You can setup your image quality in your videoprojector by lowering the green colour and upping the red and the blue, that will give you better colors that you have actually.

Thanks for your suggestion. You have right, because after next four hours image is better than before (less greenish) Now even on cold lamp turn on and don't cross on turn off:)

Hallo.

Another problem. I tryed different focus of the lamp and I found the best brightness, but now lamp began flashing (wink). Why?

J just bought metal halide lamp HQI-TS 150W/D OSRAM. Maybe that kind of lamp will be fully compatible with this projector.
